William K. Burns, died suddenly on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Aria Health - Bucks Campus. He was 62. Born in Philadelphia the son of Virginia M. (Sheridan) and the late William J. Burns, Jr., he was a resident of Levittown since 1953. Bill was an avid Phillies fan and had a great passion and love for all pets. He was a certified ASE mechanic and part owner at Mark's Trackside Auto of Princeton, NJ. Bill served with the US Army and is a Vietnam War veteran. Beloved husband of the late Cynthia (Petronello) Burns, he is the loving father of Sharon Burns of Ardmore and the late infant Stephanie; and the brother of Steven and Lawrence and his wife, Marian of Yardley. He will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephew, Melissa Burns (Joe Shousky), Rita Burns and Peter Burns . Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 pm and also on Saturday from 8:30 until 9:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. The family has requested that memorial contributions in his name be made to the National Veterans Foundation, 9841 Airport Blvd., Suite 512, Los Angeles, CA 90045, Hope for the Animals, P.O. Box 877, Morrisville, PA 19067 or a charity of the donors choice.
