just shy of his 80th birthday. The news shocked his nine grandchildren, three children, and beloved wife, who now must face the future without their resident swashbuckler, fairy godfather, baseball coach and prayer warrior.
The Rev. Dr. William Alexander was born to Charles and Edith Alexander in Germantown on November 2, 1943. A graduate of Germantown High School (Class of 1962), Philadelphia College of Bible, Princeton Theological Seminary and Eastern University, Bill was predeceased by his beloved older sister Carol Alexander and younger brother David Alexander. He loved having regular lunches with his brother Terrence Alexander and meet-ups with a close band of high school and college friends.
Although evidence hidden in Bill’s car near the time of death suggests a career in fast food forensics, his professional path led him through jobs as a coach, counselor, teacher, military chaplain and minister. Most recently, he served as the pastor of St. Stephen’s Church in Tacony. Bill spent 52 years married to Dr. Dianne Alexander of Levittown, where they raised their sons David (Heather) and John (Karen) Alexander, and their daughter Carrie Hagen (Jeff). Backyard pick-up games will never be the same for grandkids Eve, Simon, Rae, Charlie, Alec, Nicholas, Madeleine Jane, George, and Naomi.
A public memorial will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Langhorne Presbyterian Church, 125 E Gillam Ave, Langhorne, PA, at 11:30 a.m.
