Sandy was born on July 20, 1942, to William Lavery and Anna May (Clyde), in Philadelphia, PA. A resident of Holmesburg as a child, her father, who worked for Domino Sugar, was transferred to Charleston, South Carolina, in December 1955. Sandy graduated from Chicora High School in 1960. The family returned to Philadelphia in 1962.
Sandy worked as Executive Director of Administration Services for Brandt, Inc. from October 1976 through October 1998. She held administrative positions with ASI, OCC, and NJBIA until she retired.
Sandy loved to travel, enjoying many trips to Charleston, SC as well as yearly vacations in Maryland’s shore points. She had visited several Caribbean islands, Hawaii, France, England, Scotland, Italy and Ireland.
Sandy was predeceased by her mother and father, her sister Bobbi Martin, many aunts, uncles, and cousins; her dear friends Judy Kerr, Rita Groff, Sue Servedio, and Mary Upton. She is survived by her daughters Sandy (Bart) and Chrissie (Phil); her grandchildren Darby, Casey and Patrick; her sister Ginny, her niece, many nephews, and their children.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. A short memorial service for Sandy will be held at 12 noon.
