Richard A. Smith Richard A. Smith died suddenly at his home in Yardley on Monday, May 19, 2014. He was 53. Born in Trenton, NJ, Richard was a lifetime resident of Lower Bucks County and was a 1978 graduate of Pennsbury High School. He was the owner and operator of Bella Pizza and Catering in Levittown since 1980. Richard was a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife and children and especially loved their family vacations. He will be remembered as a thoughtful and generous friend to all of those whose lives he touched. Beloved husband of nearly 24 years to Ida (Pirolli), Richard was the loving father of Natalie and Damian. He was the devoted son of Robert and Naomi (Maurer) Smith. Richard is also survived by his 4 siblings and their families; his mother-in-law, Ida Pirolli and the entire Pirolli family; numerous nieces and nephews; close friends; and especially by the family dogs, Sammy and Stella. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 9:30 am at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville followed by the Rite of Committal in Tullytown Cemetery. There will be no calling hours on Saturday morning. To honor Rich's love of animals, memorial contributions made to Hope for the Animals, Inc., PO Box 877, Morrisville, PA 19067, would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
