Richard "Dick" Schwartz, Esquire, passed away on November 1, 2015. He was 80 years old. Richard was born on February 20, 1935 to Elizabeth and Adam Schwartz. He attended St. James High School in Chester, Pennsylvania. After completing high school, Richard attended St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He excelled in both academics and athletics, sharing the college championship in horseshoes with his brother Carl. After graduating from St. Joseph's, Richard pursued a career in Law and attended and received his Juris Doctorate from University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1962. Upon graduation, Richard began his legal career as a staunch advocate for injured persons and families. The majority of Richard's legal career was as a partner in the prestigious Philadelphia law firm of Anapol Schwartz Weiss and Schwartz. During his exceptional law career, spanning almost five decades, Richard was an instrumental figure in jurisprudence for those harmed in the Philadelphia legal community. Towards the conclusion of his legal career, Richard was admitted as an active member to practice law by the United States Supreme Court, the country's highest honor. Despite his admirable legal accomplishments, Richard was most beloved as a wonderful human being. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. For those who knew him, Richard was a generous man with regards to his time and heart as a person could ever encounter. He will always be known for his love of those close to him. Outside of his family, friends and clients, Richard will also be remembered for his unbridled love and devotion to his favorite passion..The University of Notre Dame. Richard is survived by his Partner, Dee Porter; Immediate family: Daughter, Donna Kennedy (Gregg Whitestone); Daughter, Anna Schwartz; Son, Ralph Schwartz (Michele). His is further survived by his Grandchildren: Lauren Fusco, Carly Fusco, Ethan Schwartz, Erica Schwartz, Reese Mintzer; and Mother of his Children, Jeanette Schwartz. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 1:30 pm until the time of his Memorial Service at 2:00 pm, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations on Richard's behalf can be made to the American Heart Association.
