Born in Bristol, PA, to the late Emerson W. and Maria M. Clark, he was a 1977 graduate of Neshaminy High School. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America, and attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
Richard was extremely proud of his education. He earned a BS in Metallurgy and Materials Science from Carnegie Mellon University, an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh, and a JD from John Marshall Law School. Richard worked in numerous fields commensurate with his education, from US Steel in Pittsburgh, PA, to Brinks, Hoffer, Gilson, and Lione Law Firm in Chicago, IL. Eventually he worked for himself in his own law practice specializing in patent law. He was barred and registered in multiple high courts, including the Supreme Court of PA, the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Federal Circuit, and the US District Court for Eastern Pennsylvania.
In his free time, Richard enjoyed family game nights and family gatherings where he could get into spirited conversations with the younger generation of the family.
Predeceased by his parents; his sister, Doreen; his brother, Robert; and his sister-in-law, Lynn: Richard is survived by his brothers, Ronald (Rebecca), Roy, Roger (Jane) and Ralph (Kathleen); his sister-in-law, Crystal Clark; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10:00 am until 12 noon, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA, 19056. A funeral service will follow.
All other services will be private.
