

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Robert Vitko, Jr., who left us on March 28th, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication to his family and friends.
Born on November 25th, 1951 in Windber, PA, Michael was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Whether he was providing for his loved ones or lending a helping hand to a friend in need, he did so with integrity and perseverance. His commitment to his family and work was unmatched, always ensuring that those he cared for were supported and loved. As veteran of the U.S. Army, Michael served his country with honor.
Michael found joy in fishing, boating, drinking coffee, listening to music and taking vacations at his Cabin. He believed in the value of hard work but also in the importance of cherishing life’s simple moments.
Michael is survived by his three children, Michael (Kelly), Brian (Jenna) and Dawn (Jeff); his six beloved grandchildren, Michael, Haley, Tyler, Julianna, Madison and Carter; his mother, Barbara; his sister, Terry (John); and his brother, Steven.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon, with a service to follow at 12 Noon, at the James J Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. Burial with full military honors will follow at 1:30 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Please be in line at the main office no later than 1:15 PM.
