Shortly after graduating High School in 1964, Maryann married Wilbur and the journey of her life truly began. Maryann raised her three boys in Levittown while also running an in-home daycare. After providing childcare services for many years, Maryann took an inventory control position with Hill Refrigeration where she had worked until the location shut down in the 1980s. From this point, an opportunity was offered to start a new career path and Maryann jumped at the chance to go back to school for Nursing. She had successfully graduated as an LPN at the age of 53. Prior to her retirement in 2019, Maryann enjoyed her time working at Pennswood Village in Newtown providing her very special brand of care to all of the residents.
Even though Maryann had retired, she couldn't slow down. For the past few years, she spent her days working with her Niece Lori & Nephew Kenny at "A Fashionable Flower Boutique" in Bensalem. Not only did she get to spend valuable time with her family, but her love of flowers and crafts had an opportunity to truly shine.
Maryann lived a life full of love and enjoyment of anything that she spent time on. She positively affected everyone that came into her path. Maryann would always present her most true and genuine self to anyone who came into contact with her, which made her a true gem. She will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to know her.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 10 am until 12 pm, at the James J., Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Funeral services will begin at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
In remembrance of Maryann's life and a cause that was close to her heart, the family asks that in lieu of flowers a charitable donation be made to The Women's Animal Center. https://womensanimalcenter.org/make-difference
