Kuma K. Haines

Born in Salina, Kansas, her family moved to Tacoma Washington in 1941. She met the love of her life, Jim when he was stationed at Fort Lewis and they moved to Pennsylvania after they married in 1967.

Kuma was a graduate of Aquinas Academy. She worked in the Richard J. Hughes Justice Complex as a grant administrator for the State of New Jersey and retired after 25 years in 2009.

She was an avid reader who loved to go to the beach and spend time with her family.

Everybody loves Kuma and she will be dearly missed.

Predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Doris Scheidt and her sister, Beverly Morningstar; she is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James J. Haines, Jr.; her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Maureen (Shriver) Haines of Cary, NC; her daughter and son-in-law, Malinda and Walter Griffin of Collegeville, PA; her grandchildren, Ryan and Ainsley Griffin, Evelyn and Nicholas Haines; and her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Diane Scheidt of Tacoma, Washington.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with family eulogies at 1:00 p.m. at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056.

Burial of her cremated remains will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
