With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Julia A. Curtis - a beloved mother, grandmother, partner & friend. Julia was a woman of grace, strength, & compassion. She had touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Christiane R. Marone, loving grandmother to Morgan T. O’Neill & Gunner P. Rishel. Her deep connection & bond was evident in everything she did- from the thoughtful gestures & quiet support to the fierce love she carried for them every single day. She also shared a loving & meaningful relationship with John G. Ketchum, whose presence brought her companionship, laughter, & great memories.
Julia lived a life full of care & intention. She had a strong ability to make others feel truly seen & heard. Her wisdom came not only from life experience, but from deep empathy that made people gravitate towards her for comfort, perspective & kindness.
She found joy in simple moments, car drives, instant coffee & shopping (especially on QVC/HSN), playing the card game WAR with her grandson-who had shared the significance in the #2 Spades card, & spending time with loved ones. She especially loved doing word search puzzles, often with a pen in hand & quiet confidence as she circled every letter. They were more than a past time- they were a reflection of her sharp mind & her life long love for words & problem-solving.
Her sense of humor was quick & gentle, & her laughter had a warmth that made any space feel like home. She offered her love freely, & her presence brought comfort & calmness.
Julia leaves behind a legacy of love, quiet strength, & unwavering support for her family. Her absence is deeply felt, but her spirit lives on in the memories we share, the values she passed on, & the love she gave so freely.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, and again on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you show kindness to someone in need or take a quiet moment to appreciate the people you love- something Julia never failed to do.
