Joseph J. Thornton Joseph J. Thornton of Fairless Hills and President of the "Good Guys Club" died on Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 95. Born and raised in Freemansburg, PA, Mr. Thornton was an original Fairless Hills homeowner and a founding member of St. Frances Cabrini parish. He worked at U.S. Steel's Fairless Works as a railroad engineer for over 30 years until retiring in 1981. He was an avid golfer in his younger years and also enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. Mr. Thornton was the husband of the late Cecilia M. (Figura) Thornton, the love of his life. He was the loving father and father-in-law of Jeffrey J. and Gayle Thornton of Gainsville, GA, Patrick M. and Linda Thornton of Levittown, Phillip J. Thornton of Fairless Hills, Michelle and Stephen Barnett of Levittown and David A. and Jenny Thornton of Levittown. He was the devoted grandfather of David, Eric, Michael, Zachary, Michelle, Patrick Jr., Matthew, Katrina, Justin, Ryan, Sean, Cole and the late Sara and the great grandfather of 8. He will also be missed by many loving nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 until 9 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church followed by Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery.
