Joseph N. "Bucky" Rodgers, Sr. died on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Woodbourne Place in Levittown. He was 86.Born in Slate Lick, PA, Mr. Rodgers moved to Levittown in the early 1950's and began to work at USX Fairless Works, where he retired after 38 years working as a Machine Operator in the Sheet Finishing Division. While employed with USX, Mr. Rodgers was employed with Michael's Restaurant and Lounge in Morrisville for over 40 years. He still sat in his favorite seat for lunch daily and the Galasso family was very special to him.Mr. Rodgers was a proud US Army veteran having served in both Korea and Japan and a 32 Degree Mason with the Fairless Hills F. & A.M. Lodge #776.Beloved husband of the late Doris (Hink), Mr. Rodgers is the loving father of Evonne Chichilitti (Jonathan), Franklin Joseph Rodgers (Cindy) and Joseph Norman Rodgers, Jr. (Kathy).He is the devoted grandfather of Caryn Hathaway (Joseph), Jonathan J. Chichilitti (Melissa), Loretta Hall, Michael and Jessica Guthrie, and Anthony Rodgers.Mr. Rodgers is the proud great grandfather of Alisan, J.J., and Tyler Hathaway, Lottie Heckman, Michael and Katelyn Chichilitti; and brother of Shirley Atherton of Indiana.He will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his brother, Richard and his former wife and mother of his children, Fay (Deemer) Rodgers Heasley.The family would like to extend their thanks to Woodbourne Place and Manor Care for their care given to their beloved father.Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 10:30 until 12:00 noon at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where a Masonic Service will be held at 12:00 noon. Intement will follow in Saint Ignatius Cemetery, Yardley.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bucky's name may be made to the A.S.P.C.A.
