John Edward Holland, age 39, of Levittown, PA, died peacefully in his sleep at Lankenau Hospital on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, following a lengthy illness. Born January 10, 1971, in Bristol, he was a lifelong resident of Levittown and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel parish and a 1988 graduate of Truman High School. He had been a resident of Inglis House, Philadelphia for the past 7 years. Beloved brother of the late Maureen Holland, John was the devoted father of Steven Patrick and Julia Elizabeth. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Maureen and John Holland, four sisters and a brother: Sally Holland, Fran Glessner (Mike), Tina Sanborn (Rich), Kathleen DeSisto (Tom), and Jim Holland; four nephews and one niece: Sean, Ryan, Liam, Shannon and Dylan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown 19054, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to establish a fund for the children, payable to John F. Holland, c/o James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA 19056. The family extends their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Inglis House 1 South for the care and compassion which was given to John.
