John E. Buranich John E. Buranich, Jr. passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his home. He was 78. He was born and raised in Old Forge, PA and was an original homeowner for 56 years in Levittown. Mr. Buranich was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. In 1988 he retired from General Motors of Ewing, NJ after 25 years of service. A member of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Mr. Buranich was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of the Oxford Valley and Saint Thomas Aquinas senior groups. Father of the late infant daughter, Mary and son, John and son of the late John and Stella (Krupski) Buranich. Mr. Buranich is survived by his wife of 56 years, Florence (Deskevitch) Buranich. He will also be sadly missed by his children, Jeff Buranich and his wife Susan and Pam Curry and her husband Fred. Mr. Buranich was the loving grandfather of Amy Elmore and Jill Phillips and the great grandfather of Ashley, Amanda and Hailey. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, Levittown, followed by Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery. There are no calling hours on Friday. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Davita Dialysis Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name may be made to the Edgely Fire Company #1, 1200 Edgely Road, Levittown, PA 19057.
