Joseph C. "Jody" Giambelluca died suddenly on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Newport, RI. He was 67. Jody was born to entertain on October 16th, 1949, always the life of the party. He was a proud member of Pennsybury High School, class of 1967. His musical career began with the clarinet in elementary school, but after he saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, he knew what he wanted to do with his life. He started his rock career with the Fevers in junior high school and played at all the Pennsbury Canteens and the Cellar. He later joined the Sweet Nothin', Curiosity Shop, Macaroon, Valentine, The Foster Mosely band with Richie Sambora, Duke Williams and the Extremes and played with the finest musicians in the Bucks/Mercer area. Jody was known as one the the best bass players in the area.He joined the Fabulous Greaseband for the remainder of his career and played his last gig at one of his favorite venues, the Rose Cliff Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island.Jody loved life, loved his friends and loved playing music. He will be missed by his biggest fan, his brother, Tom, his sister-in-law, Kathy and their children, Joe, Mike and Lauren.He will also be sadly missed by his girlfriend, Sterling Gardner, many cousins and all of his musician family and fans.Jody was predeceased by his parents Mary Pearl (Stoddard) and Joseph Giambelluca.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon. Interment will be held privately.
