Jean Wright

Jean Wright Jean Wright, 85, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness on September 2, 2015. Born October 21, 1929 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (née Bird) Holland. Jean married Robert C. Wright in 1951 and together they had three children. Jean and her husband were original Levittowners, settling in the North Park section. As their family expanded they moved to Vermillion Hills where Jean lived until her death. A founding member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, she was active in the parish until its closing. Jean could be found every Tuesday and Saturday evening working and playing Bingo in the parish hall. Jean was also a member of the Ladies Sodality. Jean spent many years as a homemaker but also worked in customer service at Sears & Roebuck. She retired from Strawbridge & Clothier, after many years of service as the customer service operator at their Clover store in Morrisville. Wife of the late Robert, Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Robert T. and wife, Cynthia of Fairless Hills; daughters, Kathleen Farley and husband, James of Southlake, TX and Karen Browndorf and husband, Gary of Morrisville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert and Shaughn Wright of Fairless Hills, Dr. Meghan Farley-York and husband Taylor of Dallas, TX, and Cole, Chase and Connor Browndorf of Morrisville. Jean will also be greatly missed by her two nieces, Kim Kanavy (Thomas), Dr. Donna DelVecchio-Hart (Donald), her nephew Thomas DelVecchio (Nina) and her great nieces Caroline and Kristen Kanavy and Nyla DelVecchio. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may also call on Saturday, from 9:00 until 9:30 at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 South Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. The Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
