James Earl Rodgers James Earl Rodgers died surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home. He was 60. Born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late James and Melody (Schaubhut) Rodgers, he was a resident of Levittown since 1988. Mr. Rodgers was sergeant in the US Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was an expeditor for Madison Square Garden for 19 years prior to his retirement in 1998. Beloved husband of nearly 37 years to Lillian (Alvarez), his high school sweetheart, he was the loving father of Leticia English (Timothy), Alyson Emma Rodgers and Emily Jeanne Rodgers. He was the brother of Frank Rodgers (Janet), Mary Lou Chiasson (Carol), Brenda Griffith (Ricky) and Ernest Rodgers (Joel) and the godfather of Christie Griffith. He will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by his brother, Roland Rodgers. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 5201 Emilie Road, Levittown, PA 19057, followed by Rite of Committal in Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Immaculate Conception Church at the above address or to Conwell Egan High School, 611 Wistar Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
