"Jim" Foley was born on June 24, 1941, in Trenton, New Jersey, to John and Madeline (Ritter) Foley.
He graduated from Trenton Catholic High School in 1959. Jim went on to establish a career in telephone communications, both employed and self employed for over 50 years. In addition, Mr. Foley served in the Air Force from September 1961 to May, 1966 and continued in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard from 1973 through 1986.
He was a member of the American Legion for many years. He enjoyed singing in a band and being a D.J. for many parties. He loved amusement parks, skiing, motorcycles, computers, fast cars and had jokes for every conversation. Most of all, he loved his family.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Patrick.
Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley, his children James Foley Jr. (Cheryl), Heather Sarsfield (Christopher) and Beth Shackleton (John), 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 South Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, from 8:15 am until 9:20 am, followed by mass at 9:30 am. The Rite of Committal will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11:30 am in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown.
