Francis Walter Dorman Francis Walter Dorman of Bensalem died on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at his home. He was 90. Born in Philadelphia, Frank was resident of the Trevose section of Bensalem for many years before moving to Wood River Village. He was a sheet metal worker and owned his own shop for a time. He was also employed in construction as a subcontractor doing roofing and siding, and as a crane operator until retiring. Frank was a member of Assumption BVM parish. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving on the USS Hissem. He was a member of the Oakford VFW. Frank was a dancer and head marshall for the Mummers with the Dick Crean String Band which later changed it's name to the Joe Burke String Band to honor a retired member and then later merged with the Tribly String Band. Frank was the beloved husband of Grace (McGeer) Dorman. He was the loving father of Francis J. Dorman (Mary), Linda G. Dorman (Dave), Bill A. Dorman (Lori) and the late Denise Palovcak (George). He was the devoted grandfather of Jennifer, James, Cary, Frank, Joseph, Sara, Katrina, Alexander, Jessica and Justin and the great grandfather of Phoenix, Austin, Aubrey and Etta Grace. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 8:00 until 9:00 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society Bux-Mont, 480 Norristown Road, Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
