Dolores Ann Rooney

Born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Mrs. Rooney graduated from a catholic business school with honors. Mrs. Rooney went on to hold several secretarial positions through the years in Philadelphia and Bucks County, including the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority. Dolores ended her career at Spiegel, Inc., after serving there more than 15 years; but, her life-long most important roles were wife and mother to her loving family.

Mrs. Rooney is the beloved wife of the late James T. Rooney Sr.; mother of the late James T. Rooney Jr.; and sister of the late William and Gerald Green.

Mrs. Rooney is survived by her devoted daughters, Dolores "Dee" Harrison (Peter) and Diane Legates; grandchildren, Allan Legates (Anne Marie) and Ryan (Allison) and Bradford Harrison; great grandchildren, Cole and James Legates.

Dolores was a longtime homeowner in Bristol Township for over 63 years prior to moving to Middletown Township two years ago.

At an early age Dolores developed a deep love for reading. She became an avid reader and read her entire life which brought her much pleasure. Late in life Dolores found a new love-one with the family cats who provided great comfort and companionship through the years.

A graveside service will be held at a future date.
