Born in Brooklyn, NY, Brian has been a long time resident of Lower Bucks County.
An athlete his whole life, Brian was a talented basketball player and golfer who earned the Golden Sneaker award during his Senior year at Delhaas High School in 1975. He was an avid fan of all of the Philly sports teams with the 76ers being his favorite.
Brian was known for his love of all animals and classic cars. He was especially proud of his first car, his 1965 Chevy Nova, which he has restored several times throughout the years.
Brian's favorite past time was taking long walks at the canal with his best friend and beloved wife, Joyce.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Florence Mitchell; his brother, Wayne Mitchell and his nephew, Chris Mitchell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Joyce; his children, Charles Ingram (Nelsie), Colleen Reichard (Robert) and Joseph Taeffner (Kerri Casselli); his grandchildren, Alexa Ingram, Olivia Owens, Corryn McCray, Chelsey, Kylie and Sean Reichard as well as 5 great grandchildren.
Brian will also be missed by his sister, Rona Mitchell and his brother, Scott Mitchell; nephews, Sean Mitchell (Amber), Patrick McMenamin (Chrissy) and Josh Mitchell; nieces, Laurie Nobel (Matt) and Katie McMenamin Gross (Jason); five great nieces; three great nephews; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
Brian's family will receive relatives and friends from 9 until 11 a.m. on Monday. September 26th at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brian's favorite pet adoption charity, Zoe's House Rescue, Inc., P.O Box 2372, Reading, PA 19608.
