Born and raised in Philadelphia, Anthony served in the United States Air Force as a Civil Engineer. Tony married Carol in 1979 and settled down in Langhorne where he worked for over 30 years in retail, both in sales and management. He was well known in the community for selling children’s shoes.
The couple laid down roots in Levittown when they bought their home in 1993. Never one to sit still, Tony constantly challenged himself to develop his prolific skills and interests. He was an entrepreneur, owning a cleaning franchise and engaging in various real estate investments. Active in his community, he served on the school board for the Neshaminy School District, ran for State Representative, and was a self-published author. He was a man of strong faith, and very involved in his church. He cherished his family and friends. Tony always could be found on Tuesdays and Thursdays catching up with his breakfast buddies at their local haunt.
He is predeceased by his parents, Mario and Dorothy Sposato, and his older brother, Lou.
Tony is remembered by his loving wife, Carol and three sons: Daniel, Marc (Irene), and Andrew (Pam), as well as his grandchildren: Samuel and Sophie. He is also survived by siblings: Joseph (Cathy), Michael (Donna), Theresa Brown (Mark), Steven (Diane), Mario (Carol), Paul (Denise), and sister-in-law: Gerry, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to gather and pay respects on Monday, March 25th from 4:00pm until 7:00 pm at James Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA, with a memorial prayer to begin at 6:30 pm.
Burial with military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA at 11:30 am. Immediate family joining the funeral procession will be leaving from the James Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA promptly at 10:30 am. Those attending the burial separately are asked to arrive at the cemetery no later than 11:15 am.
