Mrs. Roark was born in Ashe County on April 2, 1933 to the late Everett Lewis and Beatrice Cornett Lewis.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bruce Roark; son, Gary Roark; two sisters, Margaret Mahala, Georgia Daughtery, Brothers, Carl Lewis, Darryl Lewis, Earl Lewis and James Lewis.
Tressie was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker, loved quilting, sewing and embroidery. She also worked for Bernhardt Furniture for many years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dannie Roark and wife Roberta of Boomer, Steven Roark and Lewis Roark, both of the home, daughters; Kathy McNeil of Granite Falls, Sandra Bumgarner and husband Eddie of Hudson, Donna Tester and husband Jerry of Lenoir, brothers, Steve Lewis of Pennsylvania, Johnny Lewis of Maryland , and Clyde Lewis of Creston.
Also left, to cherish her memory are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Roark will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Edd Warren officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount View Independent Methodist Church Cemetery in Ashe County.
