Mr. Thomas Delaine Moore, 63 of Lenoir passed away on January 31, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Moore was born February 25, 1958 in Caldwell County to the late Nathaniel Columbus and Shirley Mae Corpening Moore.
Thomas was married to his wife, Valrie Ann Tate Moore. He had three children and one adopted child, Kimberly Tate Burch, Tanya Moore, Thomas Moore (Tom Tom) and Ginger White. Also surviving are five sisters, Elizabeth McCall, Gloria Moore, Cheryl Moore, Cassandra Jefferson, Beverly Dula, three brothers, Eddie Moore, Eric Moore and Charlette Moore. Thomas was blessed with four grandchildren: Andre'Anna, Rakeem, Isaiah and A'Meya. He has so many nieces nephews to name them all but know that he loved and cherished each and every one of them.
He worked at Hammary’s for 21 years and then some in furniture factories. He grew up in Harpertown and when he was just a small boy, he heard about and fell in love with Jesus! He would walk from his house and down the hill every Sunday to First Church of God. He learned to play the guitar alongside of his brother and Dad but knew he would play for God!
If you couldn’t find Thomas with his wife, family, at work, fishing, cutting grass, fixing cars or lawn mowers, you could be sure to find him at church.in church, on the front row, playing his guitar, bumping his head, and patting his feet: playing for God and worshiping his Savior.
Thomas loved his church, there is nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing he wouldn’t do for his church and God.
A memorial service will be held to honor Thomas on Sunday, February 6, 2022yt at 3:00 pm at the First Church of God in Lenoir.
