Pearl Phelps Gilbert

Mrs. Gilbert was born in Caldwell County, July 15, 1926 to the late Edgar Hill and Lula Price Phelps. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Gilbert, one infant son, three brothers, Arthur, Ward and Charlie Phelps, and one sister, Anne Belle McLean.

She was a member of Nazareth Advent Christian Church.

Survivors include one son, James D. Gilbert of Lenoir, NC; six daughters, Mae Lackey and husband Roy, of Lenoir, NC, Peggy Shehan, Linda Kaufman, Cathy Gilbert, Janet Gilbert, and Louise Gilbert all of Lenoir, NC; one brother, Ed Phelps of Lenoir, NC; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mrs. Gilbert will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at Pendry’s Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow the service at Nazareth Advent Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service at Pendry’s Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Brent Clark, Nicky Clark, Chad Shehan, Troy Kaufman, Casey Gilbert, and Dallas Coffey.
