Linda Correll Correll Waters

Mrs. Waters was born December 8, 1940 in Caldwell County to the late Adolphus Edmund Correll and Pearl Jenkins Correll.

Linda was a homemaker and she illustrated her interest in fine arts by working in the medium of pastels. While her interest continued in other art forms she gave drawing and art lessons in the Caldwell county public schools. When others learned of her talent she was encouraged to offer private art lessons to the youth of the community. Linda expressed her love of interior and design by furnishing and decorating their family home in the Tremont Park neighborhood of Lenoir. It is fitting the Linda Correll Waters fund at Caldwell Arts Council will continue to provide for the enhancement of fine arts in our community.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Gene Waters of 53 years, two sons; Marty Gene Waters and wife Michelle of Lenoir, John Deke Waters and wife Tiffani of Dallas Texas, one daughter; Shannon Waters Pennell of Lenoir, two sisters; Norma Correll Cody of Lenoir and Joan Correll Marshall of Granite Falls and six grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends for Mrs. Waters on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Pendry’s Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Waters will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lenoir at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Waters and Dr. Rob Hinman officiating the service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Bowman, Chris Holder, Jeff Beck, PeeWee Ashburn, Dr. Mike Foster, Mack Chandler, Todd Waters and Rick Burleson.
