Leroy Jones Sr.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mayo Mills Jones, 3 brothers, and one granddaughter, Maya Louise Jones.

He is survived by a son, Leroy Jones Jr. of Baltimore, Md., a daughter, Monica Jones and husband Linquan Jones of Charlotte, NC, 4 grandchildren, Tyran and Cameron of Charlotte, NC, and Leroy III and Hannah of Baltimore Md. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Mozelle Horton of Lenoir, Virginia Harper and husband Preston of Lenoir, and Louise Whittington of Virginia.

Mr. Jones worked for Suddreth Tire for a number of years and retired from Sonny Hancock Motors. He was a member of Smith Memorial United Methodist church where he was a part of The Men’s Choir and served as a trustee.

A memorial service for Mr. Jones will be held Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 4:00pm at Smith Memorial United Methodist with the Reverend Alvin Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:00 at the church and at other times at the home of Vickie Howell, 314 Main Street Apt. 28, Lenoir, NC.
