Mrs. Holsclaw was born June 17, 1944 in Alexander County to the late Gus and Winnie Mae Grubbs Pennell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ervin Carson Holsclaw, four brothers, Jay, Rueben, George Pennell and Lynn Pennell.
Mrs. Holsclaw was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Dover Baptist Church in Taylorsville where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She also worked as an inspector for Clayton Marcus Furniture. Judy loved to work in her flower garden in her earlier years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Danny Eugene Holsclaw and wife Bridgett of Lenoir, Rocky Holsclaw and wife Barbara of Lenoir, Carson Holsclaw and wife Rebecca of Morganton, daughter, Karen Holsclaw of Granite Falls, a brother, Jack Pennell, three sisters, Alvania Starnes late and husband Don of Bethlehem, Elsie Bentley and husband Larry of Taylorsville and Martha Pennell of Advance. Also left to cherish her memory are six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, 2 half-sisters and 2 half-brothers.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Holsclaw will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Jolly officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service at Dover Baptist Church in Taylorsville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kirk Austin, Lee Adams, Ricky Adams, Ray Blair, Teddy Estes and Joe Estes.
