Mrs. Joyce Elizabeth Robinette Allison, 76, of Hickory passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Joyce was born December 17, 1944 in Mercer County, West Virginia to the late Henry Clayton and Jamie Elizabeth Robinette.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Devada Rae Allison and two brothers, James and C J Robinette.
Joyce was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who truly enjoyed the time she had with her family. Joyce was a breast cancer survivor, which is a testament to her strength and perseverance. She was a woman who was full of spunk, known for her feisty nature. She was also a very Godly woman who loved her Lord.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Devada Allison and wife Tama of Remington, VA, daughters, Sherry Allison of Hickory, Tammy McDowell and husband Chris of Winston Salem and a sister-in-law, Carol Robinette of Largo, FL. Also left to cherish her memory are eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart.
A funeral service to honor Joyce will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Tsiolkas officiating. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for 2 hours, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
