John R Norris Sr.

He was born on March 20, 1943 in Washington County, VA to the late Edgar “Ed” Norris and Bessie “Mam” Rush Norris.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Jones Norris; brothers, Herman, Charles, Grim, and Ernest Norris; sister, Sally Norris; great-grandson, Dawson Uhl; and nephews, Danny Norris and Matt Jones.

Mr. Norris leaves behind his son, John R. Norris II and wife Tina of Morganton; daughters, Tammy Norris Effler and husband Dwayne of Lenoir, Robin Jones and husband Tim of Gamewell, and Susan Mullins and husband Micheal of Lenoir; brothers, Tom Norris and wife Emily of Lenoir, Thurman Norris and wife Patsy of Bristol, VA, and Paul Norris and wife Betty of Bristol, TN; sister, Nora Branson and husband Bobby of Bristol, VA; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Boone officiating. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Funeral Home prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
