Floyd Wayne Carter

Mr. Carter was born on February 7, 1940, in Watauga Co., NC, to the late Edward Carter and Emma Dyer.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Carter and granddaughters; Harlie Ritch and Chassidy Pitts.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Carter, daughters; April Hamby and husband Mike, Marie Teague and husband Jerry; brothers; Claude Carter and wife Mildred, Robert Carter and wife Geraldine; grandchildren, Hailey Hamby, Destiny Hamby, Michael Jr Hamby, Jonathan Miller and Tasha Ritch; Great grandchildren, Kendyll Buchanan, Annabelle Adkins, William Walker, Brooklyn Miller, Ny’Shawn Harshaw and Kaleigha Miller; nephew, Scott Carter and wife Robin along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017, from 2 - 4 Pm, at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
