Cleda Severt Greene Setzer

Cleda was born November 22, 1949 in Caldwell County, North Carolina to the late Clarence and Faye Shew Severt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Stephen Roger Greene.

Cleda was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she was lifelong member of Zacks Fork Baptist Church in Lenoir. Cleda had a great love for her grandchildren, they were the light of her life. Cleda loved taking trips to the beach, crocheting and she loved her pets including her turtle farm and her dogs Bella and Carlee. She enjoyed being outside when she was able.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband and best friend, Steve Setzer of the home, her children Shane Greene and Wendy of Lenoir, Shannon Hicks and husband Jon of Sawmills, her grandchildren Kirstin Richardson of Sawmills, Sophie Greene of Lenoir, Stephen Greene of Lenoir and Karson Hicks of Sawmills.

Also surviving are her sister, Brenda Borders of Lenoir, her brother, Jackie Severt and wife Betsy of Gamewell and numerous nephews and extended family members.

A funeral service to honor Cleda will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Zacks Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Baldwin and Pastor Jobie Borders officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Taylor, Jobie Borders, Jon Hicks, Stephen Greene, AJ Musto, Jack Severt, and Jason Borders. Karson Hicks will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Zacks Fork Baptist Church.
