Barbara Pritchard Powell

Mrs. Powell was born in Caldwell County to the late Eugene Pritchard and Margaret Amy Walker Pritchard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Johnny Earl Pritchard. She worked for Bernhardt Industries for 25 years and retired from Neptco after 20 years of service. She was a member and worker of Fellowship Baptist Church, the Red Hatters, the Birthday Club, the Lenoir Rescue, Auxiliary Women’s Club, and judge for the Board of Elections. She loved her children and loved family gatherings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bobby Lee Powell of the home; her son, Christopher Lee Powell of Hudson; her daughters, Teresa Ann Powell Davis and husband Freddie of Lenoir, and Kimberly Dawn Powell Williams of Lenoir; a brother, Jerry Douglas Pritchard of Lenoir; sisters, Glenda Pritchard Moretz of Hudson, and Betty Pritchard of Lenoir, five grandchildren; Joshua Seth Whisnant, Justin Grey Williams, Jessica Ann Williams, Tiffany Ann Davis, Terra Ashley Davis and two great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Reverend Marion Powell, Reverend Larry McCracken and Reverend James Hamby officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Freddie H. Davis, Justin G. Williams, J. Seth Whisnant, James H. Connell, John Richard Powell, Jr. and T. Keith Triplett and honorary pallbearer Charles Pritchard.
