Fred W. Dickerson

After being discharged from the army Fred went to work for the U.S. Post Office as a mail carrier. Fred was a musician who played the accordion. He had his own band and played for weddings and other events. He was active in the V.F.W. organization.

In 1978 he moved to San Diego with his second wife, Doris Bauer Dickerson. He relocated to the La Mesa post office, where he worked until retiring after 40 years of service.

Fred enjoyed listening to baseball games on his radio and watching sports on TV as well. He was a dedicated family man.

He is survived by his wife Doris, 3 daughters, Liane Stillwagon of Wisconsin, Rita Metcalfe of Santee and, Sharon Bauer of Oregon. He leaves 4 grandsons, Arthur Bauer of San Diego, Michael Metcalfe of Texas. William and Gregory Stillwagon of Wisconsin and a grandaughter Jennifer Metcalfe of Connecticut and 7 greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon both at Conrad Lemon Grove Mortuary (7387 Broadway - Lemon Grove, CA 91945). Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Diego, California.

Fred was much loved and will be greatly missed.
