Linda Ruth Simmons

Ms. Linda Simmons, 66, of Leesville, LA passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Linda was born on June 29, 1949 in Leesville, LA to Fyness Jones Simmons and Janella “Nell” Simmons. She was raised in Vernon Parish. She earned her master’s degree and was a 6th grade school teacher for 34 years. She lived and taught in Haughton, LA for several years and then in Vernon Parish for several more before her retirement from the Vernon Parish School Board.

Ms. Simmons was preceded in death by her parents, Fyness Jones Simmons and Janella “Nell” Simmons.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, James Iturralde of Leesville, LA., and Aaron Iturralde of Kansas City, MO.

Visitation will be Monday, November 16, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with Funeral services being held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Visitation and services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville, LA. Interment will follow in Self Cemetery.
