She will be greatly missed by her husband of 57 years, Donald MacLean and her sons: Todd and Darren; daughter in law, Tania (Schmidt); grandchildren: Reegan, Alexander and Cayden; and brother, Jim Stanley.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents: Joseph and Lulu Hamel (Robinson); and sister, Loretta Leeder.
Shirley loved tending her flower beds, sewing, baking, and doing crafts. Shirley made the best brownies and baked treats, and her recipes will live on in many community cookbooks. She worked as a seamstress at Ollie Richters as well as decorated cakes for some lucky brides in the area. She was the best housewife, mother, grandmother and mother in law. As a grandma, she always had fun activities and games on hand. She loved her trips back to her home province of British Columbia, travelling with Don to Disney World, as well as Alaskan and Panama Cruises. She also travelled to Mexico and Houston, although those were not her favourite places, as she had a fear of snakes and lizards.
Words cannot fully express how much we will miss her. Our family chain is broken, and nothing feels the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
Thank you to all of the caring nurses and staff at Salem Manor in Leduc. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be laid to rest in Telfordville United Cemetery.
