Bunny was born on January 16, 1939 in Churchbridge to Bob and Ruth (nee Skaalerud) Tuma. Grandma grew up in Churchbridge and had a happy home life. She always spoke fondly of her Mom and Dad, Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles. She took all her schooling in Churchbridge and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. Shortly after graduation she married Ron Daum and they were blessed with three boys, Rob, Gene and Scott.
Bunny and Ron raised their boys in Churchbridge, with Ron working at IMC and Bunny building the home life that meant so much to her. As the community was beginning to grow there was lots to do and she was happy to help contribute her time and efforts to help with the hockey arena, sports grounds and curling rink.
Bunny lived a full and rich life. She was an accomplished athlete - playing fastball, golfing and then curling competitively for many years, a talented musician - performing as a soloist at many weddings and playing the organ and the piano as well as an exceptional baker. She was a loyal friend and confidante to many.
While she was all of these things - an athlete, musician, baker and friend - to have her as a mother and a grandmother was to experience unconditional love in its purest form. She was always there. Whether it was in the stands cheering us on or providing comfort when things didn’t work out - when Grandma was around you always knew you had someone in your corner.
Grandma leaves behind to mourn her husband of 65 years, Ron Daum, her sons Rob (Carol), Gene (Kelly) and Scott (Diane) as well as seven grandchildren, Jordana (Trent), Evan (Alex), Justine (Joe), Carly, Lauren, Charles and Julie and three great grandchildren, Theo, Maeve and Lily.
As a family, we are grateful and humbled to have had the privilege of being loved by Bunny Daum. We will miss her dearly and thank everyone who has offered comfort in these difficult days.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HainstockLeduc.com for the Daum family.
