Redith F. Snoberger, 75, went into the loving arms of her Lord as her family lovingly surrounded her on Tuesday December 5, 2017. She fought a 2 and a half year courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Ron Snoberger with whom she celebrated a 54th wedding anniversary in June. Redith was born in McConnelsburg on March 16, 1942, the eldest daughter of Robert and Mildred Ensley Fix. She was a retired elementary school nurse having worked in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District for 21 years at the South Lebanon, Ebenezer and Union Canal Schools. Service was something that was not a hobby to Redith, but was in her DNA. She selflessly served her community in various ways and through various organizations. Primarily, she was a faithful member of Cornwall U. M. Church where she was a lay leader who served on all church committees and also sang in the chancel choir. She served for 35 years on the Wernersville State Hospital Board of Trustees and as president of that board for 20 years; She served for many years on the Sexual Assault Resource Counseling Center and was president of that board for 3 years. Redith was recognized by SARCC as the 2013 Children’s Hero. She served on the Lebanon County Children and Youth Board for 35 years. Redith served on the Lebanon County Mental Health Association Board for 15 years and as president for 3 years. She volunteered with the Lebanon Free Clinic and the Water Street Mission and Lebanon Rescue Mission. She also served on the Cornwall Manor Board of Trustees. Redith was a well-known past chairman of the Lebanon County Republican Committee. Redith was also a member of the Lebanon Chapter #115 Order of the Eastern Star. As a central thread in the caring fabric of the Lebanon community, she was recognized numerous times to include being given the 2003 Lebanon Valley Sertoma Service to Mankind Award; 2004 Athena Award from the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce; and in 2001 was inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame as a Community Trailblazer by the Lebanon County Women’s Commission. In addition to her beloved husband, Redith is survived by her son: Mark S. Snoberger; sister: Nancy wife of George Shearer; brother: Robin Fix as well as nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Cornwall U. M. Church, 50 Freeman Drive, Lebanon, PA 17042 where her family will receive guests from 10:00 to the time of service as well as on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 8 pm. Private interment will be made in the National Cemetery at Ft. Indiantown Gap. In lieu of flowers her family kindly suggests contributions in Redith’s memory be made to Cornwall U.M. Church P. O. Redith’s family wishes to gratefully acknowledge and thank Dr. Yee and the entire staff of the Penn State Hershey Medical Center for all of the compassionate and tireless care they provided throughout Redith’s illness.
