Martha Ann Hitz

2011 due to respiratory failure as a result of a recent battle with

metastatic breast cancer to the lungs. She is survived by her sister,

Nancy Gipe , half sister, Carol DeLory, children, Mark “Sonny” Hitz, Becky Deihl,

and Andy Hitz, grandchildren, Luke and Erin Deihl, and Julia Hitz, and great grand children,

Keegan and Eli Deihl. She was the wife of the late Mark Hitz, her soul mate, best friend, and former

co-owner of Double Mar Farm, where together they spent 50 years raising dairy cattle, beef cattle,

pigs, and crops. Martha also raised Himalayan and Siamese cats for several years as a hobby, in

addition to acres of flower gardens that she lovingly nurtured every

year. She was a member of Midway Church of the Brethren for over 50

years, a past-active member of the local Farm Women’s Group.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Monday, July 25th at

11:00 AM in the Midway Church of the Brethren, 13 Evergreen Road, Lebanon, PA

with a visitation beginning on Monday at 10:00 AM. She will be buried beside her husband.
