Lee graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1970, and a few years later he selflessly committed to serve his country in the US Army. During his tour of duty, he had many assignments and deployments, including time in Germany. He arranged for his beloved ’82 Volkswagen Scirocco (the Arkansas Green Machine) to travel with him and loved telling stories of driving it on the Autobahn.
SSG Jefferson was honorably discharged following his retirement in 1992.
Lee was a disciple of the former Damskus Road Church in Lebanon, where he grew to enjoy and love contemporary Christian music. Damskus Road band CDs were still in heavy rotation of his musical library. Prior to his death, he attended LCBC, Manheim.
Over the course of his life, Lee impacted many lives. Everyone who had the pleasure of talking to him for more than 2 minutes undoubtedly has a “Lee story” to tell! His kindness, generosity and selflessness were felt by everyone around him. There was always a seat at his table.
He wore many hats and possessed many titles. Some of his favorites were brother, uncle, unk, friend and dad. Lee was a devoted father and made it known to everyone just how much his girls meant to him. But his most cherished title was PopPop. Lee loved his grandbabies with his whole heart plus some.
Lee was preceded in death by his father McKinley Jefferson, mother Pearline Jones Jefferson, brothers Jafus Rodgers, McKinley Jefferson Jr., Donald Jefferson, and James Jefferson, sisters Essie Mae Dorsey, Bessie Mae Edwards, Lula Pearline Abadom, and daughter Venessa Renee Jefferson.
He is survived by the love of his life Linda Shultz, daughters Tiffany Lutz (Joshua), and Brittany Romberger-Jefferson (Matthew), grandchildren Vendala Willette, Valencia Wright, Jaylee Lutz, Hazel Lutz, Christian Lutz, Alexander Lutz, Lenna Jefferson, Noella Romberger and Mattea Romberger, brother Fredrick Jefferson (DeLois), three great-grandchildren, & many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
