Florence A. Moyer

Florence A. Moyer, 96, passed peacefully at Country Meadows Nursing Home in Mechanicsburg, PA, on Tuesday January 12, 2021. She was born April 1, 1924, in Stouchsburg, Berks County. She was the daughter of the late William Meredith and Mary (Keeny) Meredith. She is survived by her husband Jean Moyer, 72 years of marriage, and sons Alex Moyer (Carol) of Cornelius, NC and Steve Moyer of Washington DC. She is also survived by her brother Charles Meredith and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded by her sister Dorothy Meredith and her brothers Lee Meredith and Edwin Meredith. Florence graduated from Millcreek Twp. High School in Newmanstown, PA and Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for the Visiting Nurse Association, the Harrisburg State Hospital and did private duty nursing during her career. She and her husband did much travelling throughout the United States, Caribbean and Europe. She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Millbach and a member of Hershey Eastern Star Chapter No. 509 for 70 years.
