Margaret (Peggy) Weisenhorn Lankford, born on January 8, 1959, brought an effervescent spirit into the world that brightened the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Peggy was the beloved daughter of Charles and Carol Weisenhorn and grew up in a close-knit family alongside her siblings Steve, Mark (married to Dana), Patt (married to Frances), Chris, Gretchen, Jean (married to Paul), and Nick.
Peggy's journey was marked by both joy and sorrow. She faced the challenges of life with a resilience that endeared her to many. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Steve and Patt, Peggy leaves behind cherished memories for those who loved her.
A devoted daughter, Peggy spent many years caring for her aging mother, embodying the true meaning of familial love and dedication. She was not only a sister but a confidante and the "cool" aunt to her 12 nieces and nephews, as well as the growing number of great nieces and nephews. Peggy's infectious laughter and warm hugs created a treasure trove of memories that will be forever cherished.
Peggy's vivacious personality lit up every room she entered. Her laughter was a source of joy for everyone around her, and she had a knack for sharing inappropriate jokes that had the whole room in stitches. Her siblings fondly recall her being a "terd" as a child and opinionated as an adult, traits that endeared her even more to them. She loved to laugh until she cried, and her laughter became a symphony that echoed in the hearts of those lucky enough to be touched by it.
Her cousins, spread from the west coast to the east coast, share a special bond with Peggy. She had a unique ability to maintain connections with family members of all ages, fostering a love that transcended geographical distances. Peggy's love knew no bounds, and her impact on family and friends will be everlasting.
One of the delightful paradoxes of Peggy was her innocent portrayal of the blonde, masking the incredible intelligence that fueled her successful careers at Progressive and FedEx. Her colleagues witnessed firsthand her brilliance and dedication, and she left an indelible mark in the professional world.
Peggy's spirit will forever dance in the rain, slide down slides, don costumes with abandon, create crafts with enthusiasm, and give the best hugs that warmed the soul. Though she may be physically gone, her laughter, warmth, and stories will echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
Rest in peace, our sweet princess Peggy. Your memory will forever be a beacon of light, and we will carry the warmth of your laughter in our hearts.
