Ilus James "Jimmy" Hall, age 103 passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 in Round Rock, Texas. Jimmy was born to Aaron and Mary Hall in Comanche County, Oklahoma on March 21, 1921. He was the youngest of four children and worked cutting broom corn on his family farm and neighboring farms, earning about 7 cents per hour. In order for Jimmy's family to have dinner, he and his brothers had to work for it, hunting squirrels, rabbits or fishing.
Jimmy served in the Army Air Corp, now known as the Air Force, during World War II. During his service he was awarded the World War II Victory Ribbon, a Good Conduct Medal, and the American Theater Ribbon. He was stationed in multiple cities in the U.S. during his time in the service and was thankful for the Lord being by his side. Jimmy met his wife, Joyce, when he was stationed at the Bergstrom Air Force Base near Austin, Texas and they were married in 1946. Jimmy went on to work for the City of Austin Waterworks Department for 35 years, working with heavy equipment and dynamite. Again, Jimmy was thankful the Lord was by his side during these extremely stressful times and became a lifetime member of Marshall Ford Fellowship. After retirement, Jimmy and Joyce would travel in their RV camping and fishing. Whenever he could break away from the Texas Coast, Jimmy enjoyed Elk hunting in Colorado.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Hall, second wife, Beulah Hall, and daughter, Cynthia Pearson.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Mark Hall (Mary Beth); step daughter-in-law, Nancy Steadman; grandchildren, Brian Comer (Cheryl), Michelle Tucker (Aaron), Stephanie King, Adrienne Hall (Chris), Russell Hall (JoEllen); great grandchildren, Sean, Shannon, and Daniel Comer, Stephen and Matthew King, Nicole Woodall (Zachary), Parker, Carson, Riley, Weston, and Lily Hall; and great-great grandchildren, Colton, and Weston King, and Olivia and Howie Woodall.
