Wesley G Parks

Wesley Glen Parks passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the age of 71. He was born June 25, 1950, in Edinburg, Texas, to Hazel Wilson and Wesley Clay Parks. His family later moved to Page, Arizona, then, in 1962, to the city that became home: Las Vegas, Nevada. Wes graduated from Valley High School and the University of Houston. He spent a year at the University of Texas, Austin, before returning to Las Vegas to work in underground utility construction with his brother, Eldon. In 1976, Wes and Eldon founded Western Pipeline Construction Corporation. Wes enjoyed working with his brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, nephews and other family members. Western Pipeline was part of the explosive growth of Las Vegas, and Wes took tremendous pride in driving around and pointing out to family and friends the work the company had done.

In 1980, Wes married the love of his life, Barbara Grant. Their marriage brought Wes into the lives of Barbara's family, Ray, Kay and Raymond (Roxanne) Grant, and countless spaghetti dinners with a special pot of ribs, cooked by Kay, especially for Wes.

Together, they raised two children: Stephanie and Wesley, the pride of their father's life. Wes never missed a soccer or basketball game and could be found video camera in hand, preserving the happy memories his family clings to in their grief today.

Wes was an active member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and a vital part of the construction of a multi-purpose center, the Fadwa Ghanem Center, at St. Anne's Catholic School, where his children attended.

Wes is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Stephanie, son, Wesley, brothers, Eldon (Cathy) Garrison and Steve Parks, sisters, Marilyn Garrison and Wanda Mullinax and sister-in-law, Elisabeth Garrison.
