Officer Truong Thai

Officer Truong Thai, 49, was tragically taken from us on October 13th, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his loving daughter, Jada; his father, Quang, brother Thuong, sisters Amy, Mandy, Daisy, Betsy and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughters Jocelyn and Jasmine; his mother, Lan.

Thai was born in Bac Lieu, Vietnam in 1973 and dreamed of being a police officer since he was a child. He was able to achieve this goal in 1999 with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). During his decorated 23 year career, Thai was a mentor and training officer to many. He not only policed with passion, empathy, courage, and integrity, he embodied it.

He was always a role model to his nieces and nephews, then to his own daughter in 2003. He will always be remembered this way.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Running 4 Heroes Inc. and/or Injured Police Officers Fund Vegas (IPOF).

A visitation for Officer Thai will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E Eldorado Ln, Las Vegas, Nevada 89120. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Central Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson, Nevada 89011.
