Tosh Fujii, born March 1, 1932, in San Jose, CA, passed away peacefully at home in Las Vegas, NV on November 16, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings and son Brian. He is survived by his loving wife Fran, daughters Julie(Mike), Karen(Ron) Kim(Steve) and granddaughters Melanie and Sam (Grant) and many relatives.
Tosh, fondly known as Fred or Toots, lived a full happy life with Fran, his devoted wife of 68 years by his side. He lived and worked in Chicago, IL as a Plant Manager at Par Packaging. He spent his retirement years in Las Vegas, NV where he truly enjoyed his time with family and friends and all his hobbies. He continued to support his beloved Chicago sports teams, the Bears and the Cubs. He maintained his yard to perfection, and loved his audiobooks and could convey every detail.
Family was always a priority with his wife, Fran, at the center. He loved to share his life story and was so proud of his family especially his granddaughters. Everyone who met him was drawn to his magnetic personality and style as he had a great sense of humor and wit. Though he was legally blind, he could give you detailed driving directions to wherever you wanted to go in California, Chicago and Las Vegas. He would even let you know when you were going in the wrong direction.
He will be remembered most for his generous spirit and love for family gatherings and celebrations. Despite life’s challenges, his imagination, strong will and tenacity allowed him to accomplish his goals throughout his life.
No services will be held. He will be buried in Chicago at a later date.
