Tonja Carlisse Patton was born in Las Vegas, NV on November 14th, 1963 to her parents, Earnest Sr. and Marilyn Patton. As a child, she was focused, and passionate about her goals and graciously family-oriented. Tonja attended high school and college in Montgomery, AL.
Upon graduation from Alabama State. Tonja returned to Las Vegas and started her professional career. During her 30-year tenure as an IT professional, she distinguished herself as a leader in Cyber Security. She also received awards as she developed her leadership skills with Toast Masters.
Tonja’s community and Christian service impacted many through her work in the area food banks, clothing drives and at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. Involving her sons in such activities, she became a model of generosity.
In 1989, Tonja met Rodney Patton and was joined in holy matrimony in 1993. The beauty of the relationship did not require her to change her last name. Tonja was the loving mother of 3 talented and distinguished sons; of whom she cherished. Her innate instincts instilled loving family values to her sons.
Tonja received Christ and was baptized at an early age. She lived her life through Christian values. She was a member of Mountain Top Faith Ministries for over 20 years, actively participating in many ministries including the welcoming committee. Tonja was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, through which she continued her fellowship and service. She loved her Soros!
Tonja was preceded in death by her father and mother. Tonja peacefully went to be home with the Lord on August 28th, 2019 surrounded by the people she loved the most. Tonja is survived by her husband Rodney Patton, Children (3) Rashad, Keenan, and Jamil Patton. Brothers (2) Earnest Patton Jr. (Michelle), Chris Larkin, Sister Vanzetta Davis. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
