Thomas Donald Moore passed in his home in Washington D.C. at the age of 57. Survived by his children, Dylan and Lauren, sister Kathleen, brother Daniel, niece Erika, her son Kohen, niece Maddie, and father Donald and proceeded in death by his mother Margaret (Judy) Moore.
Born in Thunder Bay Canada, Thomas later became a long-term Las Vegas resident. A graduate of UNLV, With degrees in both Political Science and Journalism, where he was news editor at UNLV’s student newspaper the Rebel Yell during the Tarkanian era. He was a journalist at the Henderson Home News, Las Vegas Business Press, Las Vegas Review-Journal, and Las Vegas Sun. Tom moved from Canada to Las Vegas in 1987 where he married Susan, Worked for NV Energy and raised his family.
Thomas was a beloved father. He dedicated many years of his life to raising his children, while taking a break from journalism in corporate America at NV Energy. In his later years, he moved to New York to pursue a career with PR weekly. In 2021, he landed a job as reporter with The Hill, a highly ranked political news site. Thomas had found the perfect career which blended both his love of politics and journalism.
Thomas also had a high interest in music. His love of music lead him to host a radio show, Lost and Found with Thomas Moore on The Face Radio from Brooklyn. He also played guitar and had ventured into a band in Las Vegas as both singer and guitarist. He was an avid reader, world adventurer, and enjoyed bicycling, hiking and fitness.
