Theodore Arsenio Perez, 84 years old, was born in Hawaii On December 14, 1932. He graduated from, Lanai High School and found work on the island of Oahu. After completing his course in technical school, he landed a job at the Hickam Air Force Base as an airplane mechanic. It was during these times that he joined the army and was shipped overseas to fight in the Korean War. Married to Josephine Mainbog, he produced 6 children and became grandfather and great-grandfather Ted. After 45 years of wedding bliss, I am sorry to say that regretfully Mrs. Josephine (Manibog) Perez passed away. Eventually Ted met and re-married Linda J . Fevella who already had 3 grown children of her own and was also a grandmother and great-grandmother. Ted spent his retirement (while Linda was at work) going to the casino to place his football bets and play his favorite game, Pai-Gow. Ted hurried home before Linda got home to cook dinner and set the table. As soon as Linda would walk in the door, he would say "hurry up, let's eat. I'm hungry." Everyday after the work he did the same routine and said the same remarks. Through their marriage of 11 years Ted was going in and out of the hospital. He overcame many obstacles in his lifetime, cancer, gout, congestive heart failure, AFIB, loss of blood, pneumonia, etc. These constant trips gradually slowed him down. He could not cook anymore, he could hardly walk and he could hardly stand. Linda chose to retire and rolled up her sleeves in order to take care of her fragile husband. It was a struggle and a challenge. Ted fought hard to overcome all these obstacles. "I gotta get well," he would say, "so I can win it big at the Pai-Gow table!" On his last trip to the hospital he fought to keep oxygen in him. It went up to 100 and dwindled back down. He was fighting until his heart stopped. At 2:37 am Thursday morning of July 13, 2017, Theodore A. Perez was pronounced dead. He had fought long and hard to stay alive and this will remain his last and greatest battle.
