Thelma Inez Boone Taylor, a supportive wife, a caring mother, a fun-loving grandmother, a loving sister, and a true friend, transitioned peacefully on July 2, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV. She was born September 8, 1945 in Washington, D.C. to Vincent and Katie Boone, the youngest girl of their 16 children; known to her family and friends as “Inez”.
Inez was a graduate of Fairmont Heights High School in 1964, after obtaining her diploma, she spent a short time with the U.S. government before embarking on a new career with Giant Foods in the Maryland area. Later in life, she earned a Certificate of Completion in Special Education from Prince George Community College which she applied while working with special needs children in both Washington D.C. and Nevada. Inez was a beloved colleague and dedicated employee. She successfully earned her retirement from both Giant Foods and Clark County School District.
Inez was married to Walter McDougal, Sr. for 13 years prior to his passing; and in 2007 she married her current husband of 16 years, Joe Taylor.
Inez had a big personality, and a spirit of giving especially to her family, her church, and her school children. Inez was a woman of style, grace and class. She also had a sense of humor with an infectious laugh and warm smile. Not to mention her fashionable and colorful wardrobe which included her matching hats, bags, shoes, and glasses. In addition, Inez was an international traveler and seasoned cruiser. She was also a praise dancer, a voice in the choir at Shiloh Baptist Church and MFM; and a servant of God. Inez’s love for Jesus, her family, her church and her friends will be truly missed.
She was preceded by her parents; husband, Walter McDougal, Sr.; son, Walter McDougal, Jr.; siblings, Catherine Boone, Andrew, Paul, Wilbur, Edward, and John Boone. Inez leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Joe Taylor; son, Brian McDougal; two daughters, Glenda McDougal and Dawn Brown; 7 grandchildren, Bryson, Tre, Josef, Justus, Myah, Jordan, and Jaron; great grandson, Carson; sisters, Pauline Boone, Theresa Worthy (Leon), and Dolores Miles; brothers, Dan, Cornelius “Buddy”, Charles Henry, Leroy, George, Vincent Boone, Jr. (Joyce); daughter-in-law, Lisa McDougal; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and friends.
